World Cup 2022 Asia wants to be in winter

Asian Football Confederation requested by FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar to take place in winter but not as usual in the summer. The reason for insistence on rescheduling the world championship is a great heat in summer - temperatures over 40 degrees. So organizers cited as the best option in January or February.

This idea was launched earlier by members of the Executive Committee of FIFA Franz Beckenbauer, although from Qatar are ready with a special air-conditioning technology that will monitor and maintain the temperature of the stadiums to 27 degrees. Outside facilities, however, degree of sun in summer in the country reached 50.

"You can think for another solution. In January or February temperatures in Qatar are about 25 degrees, making it very appropriate time for football," said Beckenbauer last week in his regular column in Bild. "This of course would mean a change in the program of big league club in 2022, but I do not think it would be a serious problem," he added.
